Maharashtra to get “Lokayukta” law on lines of Centre’s Lokpal law: Fadnavis

Nagpur, Dec 18: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday said the State will have a Lokayukta law on the lines of the Centre’s Lokpal law which will also bring Chief Ministers and Ministers under its ambit.
Speaking to media here on the eve of the Winter session of the Maharashtra Legislature, Fadnavis said the State will have a Lokayukta law on the lines of the Centre’s Lokpal law which will also bring Chief Ministers and Ministers under its ambit and a Bill in this regard will be introduced in the Winter session.
He also said the recommendations of a panel led by noted social activist Anna Hazare have been accepted completely. The “Lokayukta”will be a retired Chief Justice of High court or a Supreme Court Judge, Fadnavis further said. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said this government is very sensitive about farmers and it has taken big decisions to increase the area of irrigation. He also said his government has taken Maharashtra-Karnataka border issue very seriously. No one should make politics out of borderism.
