President leaves for Delhi after Southern Sojourn

Hyderabad, Dec 30 : President Droupadi Murmu left for the National Capital after completion of five-day visit as part of Southern Sojourn here. She was given a warm send off at the Air Force Station, Hakimpet near here by Telangana Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy and among others.
During her visit, Murmu on December 26 inaugurated project of Development of Srisailam Temple in Andhra Pradesh under ‘Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive (PRASHAD)’ scheme at a cost of Rs 43.08 crore.
She also inaugurated a Tourism Facilitation Centre built with the funds of Union Government at Nandi Circle in Srisailam.
The President offered prayers at Srisailam temple and visited the Shivaji Spiritual Centre in Srisailam.
Murmu also paid floral tributes to martyred soldiers at War Memorial in Bollaram in Hyderabad.
On December 27, She addressed students and faculty members of the Keshav Memorial Educational Society at a function organized as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav here.
Murmu Visited Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy and addressed the Officer Trainees of Indian Police Service (74th RR Batch) and inaugurated the Wide Plate Mill of Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI) in Kanchanbagh.
The President on December 28 offered prayers at Sri Seetha Ramachandra Swamy Devasthanam in Bhadrachalam and lay the foundation stone for the development of tourism infrastructure at Bhadrachalam Temple under PRASHAD scheme.
Murmu inaugurated Sammakka Saralamma Janjati Pujari Sammelan, organised by the Vanvasi Kalyan Parishad –Telangana as well as virtually inaugurated Eklavya Model Residential Schools of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs at Komaram Bheem Asifabad and Mahabubabad districts of Telangana.
The President visited Ramappa Temple in Warangal district and laid the foundation stones for development of tourism infrastructure at Ramappa Temple and restoration of Kameshwaralaya Temple.
She interacted with the students and faculty members of G. Narayanamma Institute of Technology and Science (for Women) as well as students and staff of BM Malani Nursing College and Suman Junior College of Mahila Dakshata Samithi here on December 29.
She visited the Statue of Equality at Sriramnagaram in Shamshabad yesterday evening and offered special prayers at the hill shrine of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy in Yadagirigutta this morning. The President hosted veer naris and other dignitaries over a lunch at Rashtrapati Nilayam and left for Delhi.
