Nitish likely to start uniting opposition at national level after March

Bettiah, Jan 5 Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday said that he would start exercise to unite opposition at national level after March this year to counter BJP in 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Kumar during interaction with media persons on first day of “Samadhan Yatra” scheduled to cover entire state to take stock of ongoing development works, said that he had embarked on Yatra to review various development and welfare schemes.
It would provide him opportunity to personally see whether his directives given earlier were complied with or any shortcomings remained left, he added.Chief Minister to a query about his mission to unite opposition at national level, said that at present he was more concerned to see whether schemes and projects started by his government were completed or not.
If completed, it was a matter of pleasure but if there remained lacunae, he had directed authorities concerned to take corrective measures to do the needful for completing the same, he added. Kumar said that his “Samadhan Yatra” would continue till February this year. There after, winter session of Bihar legislature would begin which would continue till end of March. Chief Minister said that after end of winter session of Bihar Legislature, he would look intopossibility of uniting opposition at national level.
For this purpose, he could start exercise afresh, he added.
As it is, Kumar after deserting NDA and joining hands with Grand Alliance to form a new government, had visited New Delhi in September last year and met a number of top opposition leaders including the then Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. Ms Gandhi had assured Kumar to take call on his proposal after election of new party president and “Bharat Jodo” Yatra of Rahul Gandhi. Kumar could again start exercise for uniting opposition at national after March to take on BJP in 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He had made call to oust BJP government from the power at the Centre, saying it had miserably failed on all fronts and people were feeling let down.
