12 die, 15 rescued after bus plunges into Narmada

Date:

Bhopal, July 18 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra confirmed at least 12 fatalities in Monday’s bus accident on the Dhar-Khargone district border and said that 15 people have been rescued thus far. “The Maharashtra Roadways vehicle estimated to be carrying 50 to
55 individuals including a dozen from Indore were en route to that state from Indore when it smashed through a railing and plunged into the fast-flow- ing waters of the Narmada River at Khalghat in the vicinity of Dhamnod.

Administrative officials and rescue teams rushed to the scene and commenced a mission on a war footing. Prima facie, either steering or brake failure caused the tragedy,” Dr. Mishra told media representatives in the state capital. Meanwhile, Dhar SP Aditya Pratap Singh also told UNI that 12 corpses were fished out.
