Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the initiative is designed to benefit poor and middle class families by offering low cost travel without compromising on comfort and safety. The trains are being developed with a strong focus on improving the overall passenger experience.
According to officials, production of more than 130 Amrit Bharat trains is currently underway across India. The project is progressing at a fast pace as part of a broader effort to modernize the railway network and expand connectivity.
These trains are expected to feature better seating arrangements, improved cleanliness, and enhanced onboard facilities. Authorities have emphasized that modern technology is being integrated to ensure safer and smoother journeys for passengers.
The trains are also being tailored for long distance travel, aiming to provide reliable and comfortable options for those who rely heavily on railways for intercity movement.
