NATO to launch exercise in Estonian airspace

Brussels: NATO will launch Furious Wolf military exercise in Estonian airspace from August 15 to 19 with the participation of specialized soldiers of the JTACs (Joint Terminal Attack Controllers) from Estonia, Slovenia, and Lithuania, as well as aircraft from the United States and the United Kingdom, the Estonian military said on Thursday. “NATO exercise Furious Wolf will take place in the Estonian airspace from August 15 to 19. JTACs from Estonia, Slovenia, and Lithuania will practice Air-to-Ground operations. Air assets, such as the US AV-8B Harrier II attack aircraft, UK Eurofighter Typhoon, and Voyager tanker aircraft will participate,” the military said in a tweet. The Furious Wolf exercise is aimed at practicing the coordinated work of air and land forces. JTACs on the ground are expected to direct the allies’ air strikes by determining the locations of the enemy, friendly forces, and civilians on the battlefield.
