After prolonged suspense and legal uncertainty, Jananayagan is finally heading to theatres. The film, widely regarded as the last chapter in Vijay’s illustrious acting career, is now expected to release worldwide on February 20.
Originally planned as a Sankranti release on January 9, the film was delayed after facing objections from the Censor Board and becoming entangled in court proceedings. These developments kept fans and the industry on edge for nearly a month. Relief came after the Madras High Court cleared the way, resolving the disputes and paving the path for release.
The Censor Board has now granted the film a U A certificate, removing the final obstacle. Industry buzz in Kollywood suggests that the makers have locked February 20 as the new release date, aiming for a smooth global rollout.
Directed by H. Vinoth, the film features Pooja Hegde as the female lead. The supporting cast includes Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Priyamani, and Prakash Raj in key roles.
With controversies behind it and anticipation at its peak, Jananayagan is poised to become an emotional farewell for Vijay fans, celebrating a career that defined an era in Tamil cinema.
