‘Korean Kanakaraju’ is a non-stop entertainer: Varun Tej

Hyderabad, Aug. 6: Mega Prince Varun Tej said his upcoming horror comedy ‘Korean Kanakaraju’ is a non-stop entertainer designed to make audiences laugh throughout its runtime. The film, directed by Merlapaka Gandhi and jointly produced by UV Creations and First Frame Entertainment, is set for a worldwide theatrical release on August 7, with premieres held in the two Telugu states on August 6.
Speaking at a press conference, Varun Tej said he was particularly impressed by the film’s humour when he first heard the story. After taking up several serious and action-oriented roles, he wanted to do a complete entertainer that would allow audiences to relax and enjoy themselves.
The actor said playing two distinct characters with different body languages and mindsets was a challenging yet satisfying experience. He also underwent special preparation for the Rayalaseema dialect and Korean-inspired look, including a new hairstyle and hair colour.
Varun praised his co-star Satya, saying their chemistry is one of the film’s highlights. He said both actors worked on their comedy timing and dialect to ensure the characters connected well with the audience.
Discussing the film’s response, Varun said the teaser, trailer and songs have generated strong buzz, while the impressive pre-bookings and overseas response have increased his confidence. He said the entire team worked carefully on the film, with music by Thaman playing an important role in enhancing the theatrical experience.
Varun described ‘Korean Kanakaraju’ as a tightly scripted, full-fledged comedy entertainer and expressed confidence that audiences across all sections would enjoy it.
