The central government has introduced a new digital initiative aimed at making essential agricultural information easily accessible to farmers across the country. The platform named Bharat Vistaar is designed to deliver timely and reliable services directly to farmers in their own languages.

The digital platform was formally launched in Jaipur by Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan during a national level programme. Officials said the initiative will help farmers access critical data within minutes instead of depending on multiple sources.

Through Bharat Vistaar farmers can receive crop specific scientific advice weather forecasts market price updates and guidance related to allied sectors such as animal husbandry. The government believes the platform will support income growth and encourage informed decision making at the grassroots level.

The initiative is also aligned with the Digital India vision by extending technology driven services to rural areas. Farmers can use the platform through a simple call based or digital interface making it accessible even in remote villages.

Describing the launch as a historic step the agriculture minister said the platform would act as a single window for all farmer related information and services strengthening digital adoption in agriculture.
