- Gas booking priority given to domestic consumers across the country.
The central government has announced a key update regarding gas booking and cylinder delivery across the country. Officials said that households who book cooking gas cylinders will receive delivery within two and half days.
The announcement comes at a time when many regions have been facing concerns over cooking gas shortages. According to the government the situation is being addressed through increased production and alternative import routes.
Authorities confirmed that LPG production has been increased by about twenty five percent in order to meet rising demand. The government also stated that additional oil and gas supplies are being imported through routes that do not depend on the Strait of Hormuz.
Officials explained that the country has already secured more crude oil supplies than the quantity that was earlier disrupted. These shipments are expected to arrive soon which will further strengthen gas availability across the domestic market.
The government emphasized that domestic gas supply will receive the highest priority during this period. Gas distribution companies have been instructed to ensure that household consumers receive cylinders quickly after completing gas booking.
At the same time the government has imposed stricter rules on the distribution of commercial gas cylinders. To stabilize supply commercial cylinder deliveries may be temporarily restricted for a few days.
This decision has affected many hotels and restaurants which rely heavily on commercial LPG cylinders for cooking operations. Some food businesses in several cities have already reduced their services due to supply limitations.
To ensure uninterrupted gas supply the government has also invoked the Essential Services Maintenance Act. Under this measure strikes or disruptions that may affect gas supply services are not permitted.
Meanwhile the government recently increased LPG prices across the country. Domestic cooking gas cylinders saw a price rise of sixty rupees while commercial cylinders were increased by one hundred fifteen rupees.
Officials say that global tensions and ongoing conflicts in certain regions may continue to influence fuel prices. However authorities assured citizens that efforts are being made to stabilize gas supply and avoid long term shortages.
