The result date for JEE Main 2026 Session 1 has been officially revised, bringing fresh clarity for lakhs of engineering aspirants across the country. The National Testing Agency has confirmed that the results will now be declared on February 16.
Earlier, the JEE Main Session 1 results were scheduled to be announced on February 12. However, due to evaluation related reasons, the NTA decided to postpone the release. With the revised date now confirmed, preparations are underway to publish the final answer key and results together.
The JEE Main 2026 Session 1 examinations were conducted from January 21 to January 29 in online mode across multiple centres nationwide. The Paper 2 examination for BArch and BPlanning candidates was held on January 29. More than 13 lakh candidates appeared for the exams held in ten different shifts.
Following the conclusion of the test, the provisional answer key was released on February 4. Candidates were given time until February 6 to submit objections. Subject experts have since reviewed these challenges and the final answer key will form the basis for result preparation.
The JEE Main scorecard will include subject wise percentile scores for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics along with the overall percentile. However, All India Rank will not be announced with Session 1 results. Ranks will be released only after the completion of Session 2.
Since the exam is conducted in multiple shifts, NTA applies a normalization process to account for variations in question difficulty. Candidates who are not satisfied with their Session 1 performance or those who missed the first attempt can apply for JEE Main 2026 Session 2. The registration window remains open until February 25.
JEE Main 2026 Session 2 examinations are scheduled to be held from April 2 to April 9 in two shifts per day. Based on the combined performance of both sessions, the top 2.5 lakh candidates will qualify for the JEE Advanced examination, which is the gateway to admission into IITs.
With the revised result date now announced, aspirants are advised to regularly check the official NTA portal and keep their login credentials ready for accessing scorecards.
