Pakistani Militant Killed in Encounter During Security Operation in Jammu and Kashmir
A joint security operation in Kathua district led to an encounter where a Pakistani militant was killed after opening fire during a search based on intelligence inputs Friday evening operation.

Security forces carried out a coordinated operation in Jammu and Kashmir after receiving specific intelligence inputs about militant movement in the region. The operation was launched in the Billawar area of Kathua district involving the Indian Army police and CRPF personnel.
According to senior police officials the situation escalated when a suspected militant was spotted during the search. The individual allegedly opened fire at the approaching security team forcing the forces to respond immediately.
In the exchange of gunfire the militant was killed. Officials later confirmed that the deceased was a Pakistani national and a commander linked to the Jaish e Mohammed terror group. The encounter brought a brief period of tension in the surrounding area.
Following the operation security personnel recovered an M4 automatic rifle and other arms from the site. Authorities stated that the recovery points to the militant being well equipped and prepared for combat.
Security forces have continued combing operations in nearby areas to rule out the presence of any additional militants. Officials said the situation is under control and surveillance has been intensified to maintain security in the district.
