Student Suicide in Classroom Shocks Private College Campus
A college campus in Gandhinagar was shaken after a first year student was found dead inside an empty classroom prompting police investigation and campus wide concern among students and staff.
Gujarat: A tragic incident unfolded at a private college in Gujarat after a young student was found dead inside a classroom, leaving the campus community in shock. The incident occurred in Gandhinagar district and prompted immediate action from college authorities and police.
The student, a nineteen year old first year degree student from Patan district, was staying at a girls hostel located within the college campus. When she did not return to the hostel on the evening of January twenty one, staff members began searching for her and informed her family.
Following an extensive search, the student was found inside an empty classroom on the campus. Police were alerted and reached the spot along with the family members. The area was secured as part of standard procedure.
Investigators reviewed available CCTV footage from the classroom and nearby corridors to understand the sequence of events. Based on preliminary findings, police registered the case as an unnatural death and ruled out the involvement of others at this stage.
The body was sent for postmortem examination, and officials stated that the investigation will continue from all possible angles. College authorities said they are cooperating fully with the police and have offered support to the grieving family.
The incident has once again drawn attention to student mental health and the need for stronger support systems within educational institutions.
