Depression crosses BengalNorth Odisha coasts near Digha

Hyderabad August 15: The depression over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas of West Bengal & North Odisha moved west-northwestwards with a speed of 10 km ph. During the last three hours and crossed West Bengal & adjoining north Odisha coasts close to Digha between 1030 hours and 1130 hours on Sunday.

The depression lay centered at 1130 hours today, over coastal West Bengal & adjoining North Odisha near latitude 21.9 0N and longitude 87.50E about 20 km west of Digha (West Bengal) and 70 km east-northeast of Balasore (Odisha), India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a bulletin this afternoon. It is very likely to continue to move west-northwestwards and maintain the intensity of depression during the next 24 hours, the bulletin added.
