The south India times Jagtial: State Forest Minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy has directed the District Collectors to organize a large-scale. Harita Haram program across the state on August 21, 2022, on Wednesday, he held a video conference with the Collectors of all the districts along with Forest Department Special CS Shanthakumari on the conduct of Independent India Diamond Festivals. The minister said that the government has decided to plant saplings on a large scale under the Harita Haram program on August 21, 2022, as part of the celebrations of independent India’s diamond festival Officers were ordered.
The Minister ordered to give priority to a large-scale plantation of saplings in the municipality in the district and organize a large-scale program with the participation of public representatives. The minister said that till now more than 240 crore saplings have been planted across the state under the Haritaharam program for Telangana. The Minister stated that as a result of the coordinated work of the Gram Panchayat Sarpanchs, public representatives and officials and people’s participation, the percentage of greenery in the state has increased to 7.7.
On August 21, 2022, the Minister directed that saplings should be planted in every Gram Panchayat and Municipal Ward, as many saplings as necessary should be made available at the field level, and strong measures should be taken under the employment guarantee scheme for the preservation of saplings planted in the Gram Panchayat Special CS Shanthakumari of the Forest Department said that a target of planting 19.84 crore saplings has been set across the state in the current year and till now three of the works have been completed. In this video conference, Additional Collector of Local Bodies Aruna Sri, District Panchayat Officer Naresh, District Forest Officer Venkateswara Rao, Jagtial Municipal Commissioner Swaroop Rani, DRDA P.D. Vinod participated.
