TSGENCO CMD instructs field engineers to increase metered sales to reduce AT&C losses

Hyderabad: TSGENCO & TSTRANSCO Chairman and Managing Director D.Prabhakar Rao on Saturday instructed filed engineers to increase the metered sales to reduce Aggregate Technical & Commercial (AT&C) Losses and to focus on Energy Auditing & Accounting measures. Prabhakar, along with TSSPDCL CMD G. Raghuma Reddy and TSNPDCL CMD A. Gopal Rao, reviewed the performance of two Distribution Companies TSSPDCL & TSNPDCL, for further strengthening of system improvement measures and improving internal efficiency aspects, appreciated the efforts of field engineers for taking up the rectification works on a war footing basis during the recent heavy rains & sudden flood inflows which have caused havoc on distribution network which has resulted into severe loss to both DISCOMs.

In TSNPDCL, the loss caused due to heavy rains is assessed at Rs.70 crores on account of Water Logged Substations, Damaged Poles, and Distribution Transformers while in TSSPDCL, the loss caused due to heavy rains is assessed at Rs.10 crores, However, normalcy has been restored in almost all areas of the state, he said. Earlier during the day, as per the directions of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to celebrate ‘; Swatantra Bharatha Vajrotsava Dwi Saptaham’ for two weeks all over the state, the power utilities have organized the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of 75th Independence Day at Hyderabad today, in a grand way.
