In The Past Few Days, The Sad State Of Our National Game Hockey And Plight Of Hockey Players Have Come To Light In The Press – At Various Locations In Andhra Pradesh. We The Hockey Lovers Of Vilag Wish To Highlight These Same Facts In Visakhapatnam-
Games And Tournaments Are Being Conducted By Unrecognised District Associations, Basically They Are Not Recognised By The Sports Authority Of Andhra Pradesh(Saap)- Neither Do They Follow The National Sports Code Of India, Which Has Been Set Up To Bring In Transparency And Accountability: To Name A Few:
-Induct Clubs To Become Mervibers Of The Association, -Conduct Regular Fair Elections With Observers From Saar -Restrict Time Limit For Holding Posts..Etc… We Find Secretaries Of The Association In Ap And Specifically In Vizag, Holding Onto Posts – Mr. Bhavan! Shankar Rao, A Govt Empi Oyee Of Vpt, Holding On To Post Of Secretary Hockey W.6 From 2014 Or Longer – Though The Term Permitted For Go, Employees Is Restricted 10 5 Years As Per Ministry Of Youth Affairs And Sports. In Ap, As Reported In The Press In The Last Few Days – Hockey Andhra Pradesh And Hockey Visakhapatnam Do Not Follow These Norms – They Are Not Recognised And Most Important -Certificates Issued Are Invalid , Clearly Clarified By Sports Authority Of Andhra Pradesh. These Fact Needs To Be Informed To All Parents And Players Who Spent Enormous Time Playing A.Nd Practicing The Game- After All The Hard Work Done By The Players, Certificates Issued By Hockey Andhra Are Invalid -For College Seats Under Sports Quota Or For Applying For Jobs, Unlike Other Valid Associations In Visakhapatnam: For Ec, Roller Skating Hockey— Where The Certificate Issued Is Valid And Players Are Getting Jobs, Seats In Engineering /Medical Colleges. We Wish This To Be Addressed Immediately And All Associations Including Hockey Visakhapatnam And Hockey Andhra Pradesfi Instructed To Follow The National Sports Code And Obtain Recognition With The Saap Before They Are Allowed To Conduct Any Touramen Rs In Visakhapatnam.
Hockey India And Sports Authority Of Andhra Pradesh And All Relevant Authorities Should Put A Stop To Tournaments Which Are Not Valid And Misleading The Public.
