GHMC- 2022 Year Roundup

GHMC is making special efforts to provide public infrastructure to meet the growing population. Signal-free transport, better road system, prevention of flood in low-lying areas and all necessary measures for social development have been taken
Government’s cooperation in this regard is not only the State Municipal, Urban Development, IT and Industries Minister KTR acting as a development strategist, but under his guidance City Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, Deputy Mayor Srilata Shobhan Reddy, activities for development, suggestions of corporators, Commissioner D.S. Lokesh Kumar made special efforts to speed up the work. This year, GHMC is on the path of development due to the collective efforts of the officers and staff. GHMC has made significant progress in the year 2022.
SRDP: A better transport system has been strengthened in the city as part of infrastructure development to meet the growing development of the city. It can be said that SRDP has completed more work this year than previous years and achieved good results for signal-free travel for motorists. Rs. 11 works worth Rs 1686 crore have been made available.
Especially in these works, it is a great thing that steel bridge RUB, ROB, underpass and flyovers are available.
Shake Pate Flyover, Steel Bridge at Panjagutta, Bairamal Guda Right Side Flyover, Bahadur Pura, Chandrayanagutta Extension Flyover, Nagol Flyover, Shilpa Lay Out Flyover, Tukaram Gate RUB, Khaitalapur ROB (Flyover) , a total of 11 works were made available to the public by SRDP in late December last year with the former President Abdul Kalam (OYC) flyover.
SNDP: This year for flood prevention in low lying areas Rs. GHMC has undertaken a total of 56 works in other municipalities with an estimated cost of 985.45 crores while GHMC has taken up Rs. Out of the 35 works undertaken at an estimated cost of 737.45 crores, 2 works worth about 17.24 crores have been completed, in which the construction of a bridge over Picket Nala at Rasul Pura at a cost of Rs.10 crores has benefited 40 colonies along with Secunderabad cantonment area. Similarly, in Nagole in LB Nagar zone Rs. 7. Box drain works from Bandla Guda Pond to Nagole pond have been completed at a cost of 26 crores. Thus, many colonies were freed without flooding.
Engineering Maintenance: This department has spent Rs. 8538 works have been undertaken with an estimated cost of Rs.2168.44 crores and 3128 works worth Rs.597.43 crores have been completed so far.
Roads: 3059 works for construction of CC roads, VDCC other roads Rs. 821 works worth Rs.219.53 crore have been completed at a cost of Rs.814.95 crore.
CRMP: During this year, 114.80 km of road was re-carpeted at a cost of Rs.261.74 crore.
Foot Over Bridge: This year for pedestrian safety and accident prevention under GHMC Rs. 8 foot over bridges undertaken at an estimated cost of 28.10 crores have been completed and made available to the public. So that it is very useful not only for many colony residents but also for pedestrians and senior citizens. Available in Madinaguda, Miyapur, Panjagutta, Bala Nagar, Secunderabad, Rajendra Nagar, Nered Met Bus Stand, ESI Hospital Erragadda.
Storm Water Drain: In this calendar year to undertake repairs and new works of drains Rs. 228 works were completed at a cost of 117.86 crores.
Multi-Purpose Function Hall: Tenders have been invited for construction of 3 Multi-Purpose Function Halls at a cost of Rs.13.88 crores in this year with all the basic facilities in a place suitable for conducting auspicious works and weddings.
HRDCL: Link, Missing Roads are the backbone of Hyderabad’s development to reduce the increasing traffic congestion on major roads along with the growth of transport network. In this year, 4 corridor road works have been made available at an estimated cost of Rs.119.47 crores. Old Bombay Highway to Khajaguda Road via Malkam Pond Chaitanya Puri Colony 0.95 KM Road, Old Bombay Highway to O.R.R, Urdu University Compound Wall 1.7 KM, Central Ground Water Board to Phirjadiguda Rs. The 2.60 km road constructed at a cost of 26.47 crores, from Old Bombay Highway through Leather Park to Jubilee Hills Road No. 45 Nandi Hills underpass has been made available to the public.
Women’s Empowerment (UCD): GHMC is making special efforts for economic and social development of women. So far this year Rs. Bank linkage worth 372 crores 33 lakhs 60 thousand has been distributed to 4890 women self help societies. Loans of Rs.1.68 crore were disbursed to 77 self-help groups of disabled persons.
Self-employment for unemployed youth: Financial assistance of 229 lakh rupees was provided to 261 people this year to provide self-employment opportunities to unemployed youth.
In order to provide livelihood to the unemployed youth in the slum area, steps will be taken to provide training skills in an agreement with the Pune-based Light House organization. 600 people are given skill training every year.
Free Distribution of Devices to the Disabled: Camps were organized to provide organs and assistive devices free of charge to differently abled (disabled) senior citizens. Out of which 5389 registered and 4749 qualified candidates were selected.
Freedom Parks: 75 Freedom Parks have been set up in the spirit of India’s Independence Diamond Jubilee. In the wake of the completion of 75 years of India’s independence, freedom parks have been set up in the spirit of freedom fighters, from at least 75 plants to 750 to 7500 plants within the GHMC. A total of 10,350 plants were planted in 75 parks established in this background. Freedom Cup Tournament: The Freedom Cup Tournament was organized in the spirit of India’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Competitions were organized in 13 sports. Telangana sports grounds
As part of the urban development programme, 311 places have been selected to promote Telangana traditional sports within GHMC. Summer Coaching for Promotion of Sports: GHMC organizes Summer Coaching Camps for 6 years to 16 years age group in 854 sports fields for 37 days with 44 events in summer to inculcate sports spirit among children.
