Traffic police conducts road safety awareness programme for college students

Kakinada, Jan 6 : The Kakinada traffic police, under the instructions of SP Ravindranath Babu conducted traffic rules and road safety awareness programme for the students at the Sri Chaitanya Junior college here on Friday.
Traffic DSP M. Venkateswerarao while addressing the students advised them to follow the traffic regulations to ensure not only their safety but also the safety of other road users while driving the vehicles. He said the number of vehicles both two wheelers, three wheelers and four wheelers had gone up multifold and proportionately the number of accidents also going up.
Driving without license is an offence and, liable for stringent punishment. Minors driving the vehicles attract punishment to both the vehicle owners and parents also for permitting.
The vehicle drivers and even the other road users should strictly observe the traffic regulations and road safety rules not only for their own safely but also the other road users. Rash and negligent driving, drunk driving is dangerous. The two wheeler users should wear Helmets the car drivers should wear seat belts and abide by the traffic rules and regulations and at traffic islands should follow the traffic signal lights. The pedestrians should use the zebra crossing mark path for safe crossing of the road’ he added. Traffic Inspector Chaithanya Krishna said life was precious and one should keep the safety aspect utmost in mind in driving a vehicle.Speed always thrills but kills .The Youth should in mind their own safety and also of others especially.
