Kanti Velugu’ prog a boon for those suffering from eye problems : Telangana Min

Telangana Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Friday said that the ‘Kanti Velugu’ programme was a boon for those suffering from eye problems in the state. Speaking after inaugurating Kanti-Velugu centre at Gun Bazar in Cantonment area in Secunderabad, he said that the government started the Kanti Velugu programme, which has not been started in any other states in the country.
He suggested that the people of the villages, bastis and colonies should take advantage of the Kanti Velugu programme which will be held for 100 days.
The Minister said there will be free tests, medicines and spectacles will be distributed to those who have problems.
Stating that eyesight is important for everyone, Yadav said we are taking the Kanti Velugu programme to the lower level to make it a state without blindness.
The government has sanctioned Rs 250 crore for this programme, he said the operations will be done free of cost for those who need eye surgery. The Minister claimed that those who have undergone eye tests are happy about the programme undertaken by the government.
