Science to Sports; IICT & other labs jointly host tourneys

Hyderabad: The City-based Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), a wing of the Central Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), has formally played a host to conduct the 51st Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Memorial indoor games, here at their campus.
The five-day tournament was inaugurated by Dr. Sanjeev Khosla, Director CSIR-IMTech, and Chandigarh here at their campus. On the opening day, an SSBMT Souvenir was officially released by the Chief Guest, while the Tournament Cups and Trophies were unveiled by Directors of CSIR-IICT, CSIR-CCMB, CSIR-NGRI, and Hyderabad. Dr. Khosla thus declared open the games by releasing the balloons.The indoor and outdoor games that are part of the mega event are; cricket, volleyball, tennis, basketball, table tennis, badminton, chess, carom, and bridge. Different outdoor/indoor games are hosted by different laboratories. This time 51st SSBMT Finals for cricket and volleyball are being hosted by CSIR-IICT. President Sports Promotion Board (SPB)-CSIR, Dr. R.K. Sinha Secretary, SPB, Dr. Prakash Kumar, Director CSIR-NGRI, Dr. Vinay Nandicoori, Director, CSIR-CCMB and Dr. D. Srinivasa Reddy, Director, CSIR-IICT was present.
