Centre Approves Four Lane Highway Connecting Karnataka and Telangana

The Union Cabinet has approved major infrastructure projects including a four lane highway for Telangana strengthening regional connectivity boosting trade improving travel speed and reinforcing the Hyderabad Panaji corridor.

The Union Cabinet has cleared another major infrastructure decision giving Telangana a fresh boost. Among several approvals the Centre sanctioned construction of a four lane highway connecting Karnataka and Telangana improving long distance connectivity and regional mobility.

The approved highway will stretch for nearly eighty kilometres under National Highway 167 linking Goode Bellur in Karnataka to Mahabubnagar in Telangana. The project will be built at an estimated cost of 3175 crore rupees and is expected to strengthen road access towards Hyderabad.

This new four lane road will pass through Raichur, Narayanpet, Devarakadra and Mahabubnagar integrating key districts with the Hyderabad Panaji corridor. Officials say the upgraded road will reduce travel time, support trade movement and improve safety for daily commuters.

In the same Cabinet meeting the Centre also approved additional four lane road works in other states as part of the Hyderabad Panaji corridor. A major section between Damasia Bitad and Narsapur Moloth received approval with an outlay of 4584 crore rupees. Another road upgradation between Goti Trimbak and Palghar will be taken up at a cost of 3320 crore rupees.

Urban transport projects were also cleared with approval for extension of the Noida Metro Aqua Line. The 11.6 kilometre stretch from Botanical Garden to Sector 142 has been sanctioned with a project cost of 2254 crore rupees and a four year completion target.

The Cabinet also approved the Urban Challenge Fund with an allocation of one lakh crore rupees to support urban infrastructure projects through state level loans. Startup India Fund 2.0 received ten thousand crore rupees to strengthen the startup ecosystem.

Since returning to power the Union government has cleared infrastructure projects worth over thirteen lakh crore rupees. These include rail, national highways, metro, airports, ports, ropeways, hydro projects, industrial smart cities and housing under PM Awas Yojana reflecting a continued focus on large scale development.
