Concerns are growing among restaurant owners across several Indian cities as reports of commercial LPG shortages begin to affect daily operations. Many small hotels and restaurants have been forced to reduce services or temporarily close due to limited availability of cooking gas.

The problem is being reported in multiple metropolitan areas including Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi. Businesses that depend heavily on commercial LPG cylinders say delays in supply and limited availability are creating serious challenges for the food service industry.

In Bengaluru several hotels have already started facing difficulties in obtaining commercial LPG cylinders. Some restaurant owners say they require five to ten cylinders daily to run their kitchens but recent shortages have made it difficult to maintain regular operations.

In extreme cases some hotels have turned to traditional wood fired stoves as a temporary solution to continue serving customers. Owners fear that if the supply situation does not improve soon more establishments may be forced to suspend operations.

A similar situation has emerged in Mumbai where the hotel association reported that nearly twenty percent of restaurants and small hotels have temporarily shut down due to the shortage of commercial gas cylinders. Business owners warn that the number could increase if the problem continues.

Restaurant operators say distributors currently have limited stocks and delivery delays are making it difficult to obtain sufficient gas supplies. Small and medium sized eateries are particularly affected because they rely heavily on regular cylinder deliveries.

The impact is also being noticed in Hyderabad where some restaurants and small hotels are reportedly facing difficulties in accessing commercial LPG cylinders. A few establishments have temporarily paused operations while others are trying to find alternative cooking arrangements.

Despite these reports the central government has stated that the country has adequate oil and gas reserves. Officials say the shortages in some areas may be due to temporary supply chain issues or transportation delays.

Authorities have assured that oil companies are taking steps to restore normal supply and resolve the issue quickly. Meanwhile restaurant owners are urging the government to intervene and ensure smooth gas distribution so that businesses can continue operating without disruption.
