The Andhra Pradesh government is preparing to reshape its capital vision by replacing the earlier seed business district concept with a new Amaravati Finance City. The proposed project is expected to emerge as a major commercial hub designed to boost revenue and attract global investments into the capital region.
Sources indicate that initial planning is already underway, with consultations held with international organizations to shape the project framework. An official announcement is likely once the groundwork and strategic planning reach a final stage.
The Finance City is planned across nearly 1690 acres, where multiple high rise structures will be developed to host corporate offices and financial institutions. The idea is to create a steady income stream for the state by leasing or selling these commercial spaces, while also enhancing the overall economic profile of Amaravati.
Officials believe that constructing multi storey buildings will significantly increase land value and help position the city as a modern financial destination. The government is also exploring different development models, including whether to involve private partnerships or execute the project under the Capital Region Development Authority.
The decision follows earlier setbacks related to the seed business district project, which had been assigned to a Singapore based consortium. That agreement was later scrapped after a change in government, and attempts to revive the collaboration did not succeed despite multiple rounds of discussions.
With the Finance City proposal, the state is now looking to move forward with a fresh strategy focused on economic sustainability and long term growth, aiming to turn Amaravati into a vibrant financial center.
