Purushaha Movie Review: Fun-Filled Family Entertainer With Comedy & Emotions

Sapthagiri and Raj Kumar Kasireddy deliver hilarious moments while friendship, marriage conflicts, and emotional scenes make Purushaha an enjoyable family entertainer.

Small-budget entertainers rarely generate strong pre-release attention, but Purushaha managed to build decent buzz with its colorful promotional content and entertaining trailer. Backed by a lineup of popular comedians like Sapthagiri, Raj Kumar Kasireddy, Vennela Kishore, and VTV Ganesh, the film positioned itself as a clean family entertainer loaded with humor and relationship drama. Directed by Veeru Vulavala, Purushaha delivers exactly what it promises — a simple, fun-filled entertainer with emotional moments that connect with family audiences.

Story:

Govind (Pavan Kalyan Battula) is a marriage counselor who helps couples overcome misunderstandings before their relationships fall apart. He shares a happy married life with his wife Kamala (Rayancha Kokkura). Meanwhile, his close friends Thomas (Sapthagiri) and Jump (Raj Kumar Kasireddy) constantly face funny arguments and emotional conflicts with their wives.
Things take an unexpected turn after a drunken night where Govind accidentally reveals details about his past love life to Kamala, creating tension in his marriage. Hoping to escape the awkwardness, Govind attends the wedding celebrations of his friend Kissu (Vennela Kishore), an artist who records memories and secrets in his personal diary through sketches.
The real chaos begins when the diary — containing embarrassing stories and hidden memories of Govind, Thomas, and Jump — reaches their wives. The misunderstandings that follow create hilarious situations and emotional conflicts between the couples. How the three friends overcome these problems and protect their relationships forms the core of the film.

Performances :

Pavan Kalyan Battula delivers a neat and controlled performance. He handles both emotional and humorous scenes comfortably and fits well into the role of a mature family man.

Rayancha Kokkura looks graceful on screen and performs naturally during emotional portions.

Vishika Keerthi and Haasini Sudhir bring glamour and energy to the narrative with their entertaining presence.
The major highlight of Purushaha is undoubtedly the comedy track involving Sapthagiri and Raj Kumar Kasireddy. Their timing, expressions, and chemistry create several laugh-out-loud moments that keep the film entertaining throughout.

Vennela Kishore appears in a lengthy cameo and delivers his trademark humor effectively. Though his role creates many fun moments, the character arc feels slightly incomplete towards the climax.

VTV Ganesh and Pammi Sai contribute decent comic support, while Hariteja and Rajeev Kanakala perform their roles appropriately.

Technical Analysis:

Director Veeru Vulavala chooses a safe and familiar storytelling format but succeeds in keeping the proceedings entertaining. The comedy episodes are well-executed, particularly the scenes involving Sapthagiri and Raj Kumar Kasireddy.

The emotional portions in the latter half and climax work nicely, giving the film a satisfying emotional closure.
However, a few supporting characters could have been developed better, and some subplots end rather abruptly without proper payoff.

Musically, the songs blend smoothly into the narrative, while the background score supports the emotional and comedy scenes effectively.

The cinematography maintains a colorful and pleasant visual tone throughout the film. Production values are surprisingly good for a small-budget entertainer, and the makers deserve credit for maintaining decent quality. Though a few VFX moments appear weak, they do not significantly affect the viewing experience.
Another positive aspect is the film’s runtime of 2 hours and 19 minutes, which keeps the narration fairly crisp without unnecessary dragging.

Verdict:

Purushaha is a simple, light-hearted family entertainer that banks heavily on comedy, friendship, and relationship emotions. While the storyline remains predictable, the entertaining performances and humor make it an enjoyable watch for family audiences.
Those looking for a clean weekend entertainer with fun moments, emotional scenes, and plenty of comedy are likely to enjoy Purushaha. It may not offer anything groundbreaking, but it succeeds in delivering decent entertainment.
