Anxiety gripped Bhavanipuram in Vijayawada after two children went missing under mysterious circumstances on Wednesday evening. The boys, identified as Meraram aged twelve and Umaram aged thirteen, left home saying they were going to their tuition classes but never reached the centre.
According to family members, the boys’ mother personally dropped them near the tuition point. However, instead of entering the premises, the children reportedly returned outside and waited on the roadside. This unexpected turn of events has left the family deeply distressed.
Preliminary information gathered from locals and CCTV footage indicates that the boys boarded an auto-rickshaw parked nearby and travelled away from the area. Where they went and who was driving the auto remain unclear, and this angle is now central to the investigation.
Following a complaint from the parents, Bhavanipuram police registered a missing children case and stepped up search operations. Special teams have been deployed, and CCTV cameras along the possible route are being closely monitored to trace the auto’s movement.
Police have urged the public to come forward with any information that may help locate the missing boys, assuring that every possible effort is being made to bring them home safely.
