97 electric buses inducted into DTC

Date:

Delhi, Aug: Delhi on Wednesday added 97 more electronic buses to its fleet, taking the total number of e-buses in Delhi to 249. The new buses were flagged off by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal who said that by the end of 2025 a total of 80 percent of buses in the capital will be electric.

Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot called it a historic moment and said it was a fitting reply to those who warned that the Delhi Transport Corp (DTC) was going to shut down. “We will make DTC the best transport corporation in the world,” said Gahlot. He said that by the end of 2023, 1,500 more electric buses will be inducted into DTC, apart from the induction of 300 buses which is ongoing
