Army Chief proceeds on a 4-day visit to Nepal

Army Chief Gen Manoj Pande proceeded on a four-day visit to Nepal on Sunday to enhance existing bilateral defense ties and strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest. This is his first visit to Nepal as the Army Chief. During the visit, he will call on the President, the Prime Minister, and the Army Chief of Nepal.

Informing about the visit, the Army said that he will also meet the country’s senior military and civilian leadership where he will discuss avenues for enhancing India-Nepal defense relations.

“Continuing a tradition of friendship between both armies, the Indian Army Chief will be conferred with the honorary rank of Gen of Nepal Army on September 5 in a ceremony at Sital Nivas, the official residence of the Right Honorable President of Nepal,” the Indian Army said.
