Congress slams Centre over Naga issue

New Delhi, Aug 18: The Congress on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the Central government demanding to know why there was no solution to the Nagaland tangle even seven years after an ”agreement” was reached with the rebels. The party asked why the agreement had not been made public.

Addressing a press conference here Congress Nagaland in charge Ajoy Kumar said: ”On August S 20lS Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced they had a found a solution to the Naga problem. There is no ³solution’ for the last seven years. The PM lied to the country.”

”Why did not the government disclose the agreement to the people of India? Why are you not making it public? What is the reason you are hiding it? Is it against the interest of India? The PM should answer ” he said. He also accused the BJP and Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio a senior leader of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) of being lethargic in finding a solution to the issue for political benefits. ”The solution to Naga political issue is being delayed because Rio and BJP Yant to take the support of the NSCNEM armed groups to Yin the 202S elections.
