Fuel prices remain unchanged

New Delhi August 16: Petrol and diesel prices remain steady on Monday with the highest being in Kolkata among the four metros. According to a notification of the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), petrol in Delhi sold at Rs 96.72 per liter and diesel at Rs 89.62 per liter. In Mumbai, Rs 106.31 per liter petrol while Rs 94.27 per liter diesel, while in Chennai Rs 102.63 and Rs 94.24 and Kolkata Rs 106.03 and Rs 92.76 respectively.

Petrol and diesel prices in the country differ from state to state depending on VAT and freight charges. The central government too charges an excise duty on motor fuels.
