The South India times Firozabad: An inquiry has been ordered after a video of police personnel of Uttar Pradesh police complaining about the quality of food being served in the mess of Police Lines. A video of the teary-eyed complainant lamenting his fate forced to have below-standard lunch after 12 hours of continuous duty went viral on social media on Thursday. Police sources said that Manoj Kumar, who is posted at Police Lines, came out on road on Wednesday with his plate which apparently had some hard rotis, one lentil soup, and rice.

He created a big hue and cry complaining to the passersby and the media about the poor quality of food being served at the mess.

“No one is listening in this department. If the police chief would have heard there was no need for me to come here,” Kumar can be heard in the viral video. He can be heard saying, “The police chief came and I asked him, sir please eat four Rotis from my place at least you will know that your personnel is eating such stuff after performing 12 hours of duty. Can your children eat this? I just want to ask you I have been hungry since morning. Even on this, I am threatened that I will be sacked from the service.

“The personnel alleged that he complained to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and Reserve Inspector (RI) Police Lines, but nobody paid attention to his complaint. Kumar claimed that he even tried to contact the ADG Agra zone, but his call was not received. Police sources said that after the incident, Kumar was taken away forcibly by Matsena police. When contacted the police officers concerned said Manoj Kumar is undisciplined and he had indulged in such activities in the past.
