KCR & unveiling of his BRS national agenda at Khammam

The stage seems to have been set for the massive public meeting on Wednesday at Khammam where the newly formed Bharatiya Rashtra Samiti (BRS) founder and state chief minister Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao is going to announce his agenda for the nation ahead of next year Lok Sabha polls.
He is resetting the course of TRS as it gets reinvented into BRS while foraying into the choppy waters of national politics. KCR expects the party cadre to mobilize around 5 lakh people as a show of strength at the rally. He has handed over the onerous task of carrying this out to his ‘sulking’ nephew and the state Finance Minister T Harish Rao.
Harish Rao appears to be ‘sulking’ for a reason. He is equally ambitious and perhaps savvier than KTR, his cousin who is set to be crowned Telangana chief minister if his father moves into national politics. Harish has a job to do here. Twice in recent months, he failed to live up to his reputation as Dubbak and later, Huzurabad, slipped out of TRS’ hands under his watchful eye. KCR had sent out invites to several so-called national leaders, but those who consented to participate are not real political heavyweights in Indian politics. While he is not exactly a political heavyweight especially in the light of election results, Arvind Kejriwal manages to stay in the news constantly. To his credit though, his party scored a convincing win last year in Punjab. Many political analysts feel that the other leaders are a spent force and have no hold whatsoever in their respective states. Those state chief ministers who are attending the meet like Kerala’s Pinarayi Ravi or Delhi’s Arvind Kejriwal or Bhagwat Singh Mann of Punjab, have negligible representation in either of the Houses of Parliament. For that matter, even KCR’s TRS or BRS has a little over half a dozen MPs in both LS and RS.
