Patna: Reiterating his tough stand on liquor ban Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced that no compensation would be given to the victims of the hooch tragedy. Intervening into the ruckus created by the opposition during the pre-lunch sitting in Bihar assembly on Friday Nitish Kumar dubbed the consumption of liquor as a condemnable act and said that any compensation for death due to consumption of spurious liquor was wrong.Referring to various religions and ideologies of Bapu Nitish Kumar said that liquor consumption has not been justified anywhere and without taking the name of BJP maintained that those who were in support of the liquor ban were now speaking against it. Nitish Kumar said.
that it is he who has strictly imposed a ban on liquor in his state and maintained that the situation of liquor ban is known to everyone in the state of the person who is ruling over the country. He said that the prime minister himself had praised the total prohibition of Bihar in 2017 but now they were speaking against it after he snapped his ties with them. Nitish Kumar said that the death due to the hooch tragedy proves liquor consumption was wrong and asked the members to convince people not to consume it.The CM said that the poor families earlier engaged in the liquor trade for their livelihood, were now being assisted Rs one lakh and more to enable them to shift to other professions.He alleged that by speaking against the liquor Ban the BJP was trying to get the support of poor people whose quality of life has transformed since the imposition of prohibition and they were living peacefully.If someone consumed liquor, he would die as it could be spurious, he stressed and appealed to people not to consume liquor.
