ONE KILLED, THREE INJURED AFTER A HOUSE COLLAPSED

New Delhi, July 24 (UNI) One person was killed, and three others were injured after a three-story building collapsed in Delhi’s Mustafabad area on Sunday morning, a senior official of the Delhi Fire Service said. According to DFS, they received a call at around 0505 hours regarding an incident of a house collapsing in the Babu Nagar Chane Wali Gali Mustafabad area. When the fire officials along with three fire tenders reached the spot, they found three-story buildings had collapsed and several people were trapped under its debris.

The DFS staff immediately started the rescue operation and four persons were pulled out from the heap of debris and sent to Jag Pravesh Hospital, said a senior official of DFS. One person who died in the incident has been identified as Sufiyan (20) and the three injured are Shabnam (40), Suleman (42), and Laiva (19). According to Delhi Police, Sufiyan was trapped under heavy debris. He was rescued after a lot of effort and shifted to the hospital, where he was declared brought dead. The family was living in the said building as tenants for four years. The Head of the family, Suleman, runs a scrap business. The building was constructed about 17-18 years back and is owned by Shamim Ahmad. Legal action is being taken in this matter, said a senior Delhi Police official.
