Pall of gloom descends on actor Krishna’s native village in AP

Hyderabad, Nov 15 (UNI) A pall of gloom descended on veteran actor G Krishna’s native village Burripalem in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh.
The villagers of Burripalem are in state of shock after hearing the news of the actor’s demise early this morning. They expressed deep condolences on his death.
Seventy-nine-year-old Legendary Telugu Actor and Superstar Mahesh Babu’s father Ghattameneni Krishna died due to multi-organ failure while undergoing treatment at Continental Hospitals here.
Krishna was born in Burripalem village of Tenali Mandal in Andhra Pradesh in May 31,1942.
It is known that Mahesh Babu adopted and developed the village.According to Burripalem villagers, Krishna used to visit his house during the summer and rare pictures of superstar Krishna are placed in the residence.Krishna began his film career with the movie ‘ Thene Manasulu” in 1964 and acted in more than 350 movies.
As a mark of respect and tribute to late actor Ghattamaneni Krishna, many morning shows in Theatres were cancelled in Andhra Pradesh’s West Godavari district.The sudden demise of Tollywood superstar Krishna leaves everyone in tears and his fans are making a beeline to Hyderabad to pay their last respects to the actor.
About 55,000 tweets are full of condolences and fans mourned the death of the actor who was one of the most celebrated personalities of their time.
The news has left the entire Telugu film industry in shock and has left Mahesh Babu and his family totally devastated.
This is the third death in one year in the actor’s family after his brother Ramesh Babu passed away in January, followed by his mother Indira Devi who left the world in September this year.
The veteran actor’s mortal remains was kept at his home in Nanakramguda area in the city and later, in the evening , his mortal remains will be taken to the Gachibowli Stadium for public homage.Many fans and actors from the Indian film industry also condoled the death of the superstar.Actor Kamal Hassan while expressing his condolences on Twitter, said :’ An icon of Telugu cinema Krishna garu is no more, an era ends with his demise. I wish to share the grief of brother @urstrulyMahesh who has to bear this third emotional trauma of losing a mother, brother and now his father. My deepest condolences dear Mahesh garu.On twitter, actor Rajnikanth said “The demise of Krishna garu is a great loss to the Telugu film industry … Working with him in 3 films are memories i will always cherish. My heartfelt condolences to his family …may his soul rest in peace @urstrulyMahesh
Tollywood actor Nagarjuna said :A Fearless man who attempted every genre!! The original cowboy of Telugu films!! I could sit with him for hours which were filled with his positivity the man, the legend, the superstar!!#RIPSuperStarKrishnaGaru we will miss youTamil actor Suriya took to social media to express his condolence over the demise of yesteryear superstar Ghattamaneni Krishna. He also sent prayers and strength to Mahesh Babu for facing the loss of brother, mother and now father, all in one year.Suriya tweeted, “Our prayers and respects to Krishna garu, sending lots of love and strength to @urstrulymahesh and family. It’s been a tough year for you brother.. We are with you!On his facebook account, Pawan Kalyan expressed shock over death of Ghattamaneni Krishna, saying ‘the news has caused great pain’
I pray to God that the holy soul of Krishna garu may rest in peace. Krishna garu was very friendly and gentle with everyone. We have a good relationship since we were in Madras.
Krishna’s services as a protagonist, producer, director and studio owner for the development of the Telugu film industry are memorable, Pawan Kalyan, the Janasena Party President, said.
