Narendar Modi has received a rare international honour from Israel, marking a historic moment in India Israel relations. The Israeli Parliament conferred its highest parliamentary distinction, the Speaker of the Knesset Medal, recognising his leadership and diplomatic engagement.

The award was presented during Modi’s address to the Knesset, making him the first Indian Prime Minister to receive this prestigious recognition. Israeli leaders described the honour as a tribute to his role in deepening bilateral cooperation across defence technology innovation and global diplomacy.

Officials said the medal reflects Israel’s appreciation of Modi’s personal contribution to strengthening strategic ties between the two democracies. The recognition also places him among a select group of world leaders acknowledged for fostering long term partnerships and mutual trust.

This is not the first time Modi has been honoured on the international stage. In 2018, the Palestinian leadership conferred upon him the Grand Collar of the State of Palestine, the highest civilian honour awarded to foreign dignitaries.

The twin recognitions from both Israel and Palestine highlight Modi’s diplomatic outreach in a sensitive region and underscore India’s balanced engagement in global affairs.
