Tumkur (Karnataka): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday took a swipe at the Opposition parties for spreading misinformation on the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), one of the premier defence manufacturing units of the country.
He alleged that misinformation was spread about this premier institution and many false allegations were made against his government, he recalled while inaugurating the HAL’s helicopter unit. He said; “many working hours of the Parliament were also wasted over it.”
“HAL’s Helicopter Factory and its rising power is an answer to those who leveled false allegations. HAL is boosting self-reliance in defence and it is the future of India’s safety,” the prime minister pointed out. Speaking at the event, PM Modi said, “Karnataka has always been a land of innovation and technology. The manufacturing of drones and Tejas aircraft is already being done in the state. We are slowly becoming self-dependent as assault rifles, aircraft carriers, and fighter jets are being manufactured by India.”PM Modi also said that industries around the Tumakuru area will give a boost to the country’s economy and said that they are focusing on the connectivity between industrial towns.
“Creating connectivity between industrial areas is as important as building them. We are focusing on improving connectivity between Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Mumbai and many projects are already going on. A huge number of employment opportunities will be created and it is a blessing to the country’s economy”. Union minister Rajnath Singh and Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai were also present at the event.
