Kolkata Knight Riders decided to field first after winning the toss against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their clash at Eden Gardens, setting the stage for an intriguing contest under challenging pitch conditions.

Captain Ajinkya Rahane explained that the decision was influenced by the unusual amount of grass on the pitch and recent rainfall in the city. He noted that dew could play a role later in the evening, making chasing a more favorable option. Rahane expressed confidence that the surface would remain consistent throughout the match.

He also spoke about all rounder Cameron Green, stating that the player is contributing well and is expected to add value with the ball soon. Rahane confirmed that Kolkata has gone in with an unchanged lineup for this game.

On the other side, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Ishan Kishan admitted that his team would have also preferred to bowl first had they won the toss. He emphasized the need to correct mistakes from the previous match and focus on executing their plans effectively on the field.

Kishan also addressed questions regarding key bowler Pat Cummins, saying there is no clear update on his return but the team remains hopeful of his availability soon. For this match, Hyderabad has made a change by including left arm wrist spinner Shivang Kumar in the playing eleven.

With SRH set to bat first and KKR banking on early breakthroughs, both teams are looking to gain an early advantage in what promises to be a competitive encounter shaped by pitch conditions and tactical decisions.
