Gujarat Titans booked their place in the IPL final with an impressive seven wicket victory over Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier Two at Mullanpur. Chasing a daunting target of 215 runs, Gujarat completed the task comfortably, reaching 219 for 3 in just 18.4 overs.

The chase was powered by a brilliant century from captain Shubman Gill, who anchored the innings with authority from start to finish. The opener smashed 104 runs from just 53 deliveries, striking 15 boundaries and three sixes to keep the scoreboard moving at a rapid pace.

Gill received strong support from Sai Sudharsan, who continued his excellent form with a quickfire 58 off 32 balls. The pair put together a massive 167 run opening partnership that virtually sealed the contest before Rajasthan could find a way back into the game.

However, Sudharsan’s innings ended in unfortunate fashion. Attempting a powerful shot, he lost control of his bat, which slipped from his hands and struck the stumps. The dismissal was ruled hit wicket, bringing an abrupt end to an otherwise outstanding knock.

The dismissal also placed Sudharsan in the IPL record books for an unwanted reason. He became the first batter in tournament history to be dismissed hit wicket in two consecutive innings. He had suffered a similar dismissal in the previous Qualifier against Bengaluru, making the latest incident a rare occurrence in the league.

The unusual wicket left Gill visibly disappointed at the non striker’s end, with cameras capturing the Gujarat captain dropping to his knees in disbelief. The moment quickly became a talking point among fans watching the high stakes encounter.

Earlier in the match, Rajasthan Royals posted a challenging total thanks largely to Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s impressive 96 run innings. Despite his efforts, Rajasthan’s bowlers were unable to stop Gujarat’s powerful batting lineup from completing one of the most dominant chases of the season.

With confidence high and momentum firmly on their side, Gujarat Titans now head into the final aiming to finish their campaign on a winning note.
