46th ORIENTATION COURSE FOR GEOLOGISTS (OCG)

: The valedictory session for the 46th Orientation course for Geologists (OCG), recruited by honorable UPSC, was conducted on 9th November 2022 at M.S. Krishnan Auditorium, Geological Survey of India Training Institute, Hyderabad. Total 64 newly recruited geoscientists have been extensively trained for almost 11 months long duration in different geological terrains of the country to become professional geoscientist by GSITI. The valedictory session was chaired by Dr. S.Raju, Director General, GSI in the august presence of Shri Ch. Venkateswara Rao, DDG & Head, Mission-V, GSITI, Hyderabad and Shri S.K. Tripathi, DDG & RMH IV, GSISR Hyderabad. Directors and Faculty Members of GSITI, Hyderabad were also present during the occasion.
The valedictory session of course commenced with the course overview presented by Shri Shyama Prasad Bhutia, Director (TC), GSITI, Hyderabad. He stressed that the trainee Officers are greatly privileged to be a part of the GSI family who got trained in various geoscientific aspects along with personnel, technical and soft skill developments. Shri Ch. Venkateswara Rao, DDG & Head Mission-V, GSITI congratulated all the officers for successful completion of 11 month long the training program. He emphasized the importance of Discipline, Decorum, and Dedication and deliberated on its significance in career development. He stressed upon the importance of training in different parts of the country and suggested geoscientists to utilize the techniques which they have learnt during training. Dr. S. Raju, Director General, GSI in his address mentioned that the GSI is the best Geoscience Organization, with excellent team of officers in various geoscience domains. He advised the officers to maintain self-esteem, absolute professionalism and put their effort to explore mineral deposits, which can contribute, to growth of the country. Dr. S. Raju has expressed that these geoscientists are future of the organization.Dr. S. Raju, Director General had also interacted with the 15 participants of 12th Indian Technical and economic Cooperation (ITEC) course on Remote sensing and digital image processing, sponsored by ministry of external affairs, Govt. of India. During the interaction participants expressed their happiness about technical aspects and the facilities.
which they are getting at GSITI. Dr. S. Raju had interacted with individual participants and wished them for their bright future.The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Shri R.Vijay Kumar,, Director, GSITI, Hyderabad.
