AP CM pays tributes to Y S Rajasekhara Reddy on his 13th death anniversary

Kadapa: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Moha n Reddy, along with his family members paid floral tributes to late Chief Minister Dr. Y S Rajasekh ara Reddy on the occasion of his 13th death anniversary on Friday. Reddy and his family members paid tributes at the grave of Rajasekhara Reddy at Idupulapaya village in this district.

Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy was the father of Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. Jagan Mohan Reddy, his mother Y S Vijaya Lakshmi, wife Y S Bharathi Reddy, and a large number of relatives, well-wishers, and party leaders paid rich tributes at the grave by placing flowers. They also participated in the prayer meeting on the occasion at the YSR ghat. Taking to the micro-blogging site twitter the Chief Minister said, ‘Though (my) father has physically left us his effervescent smile and (fond) memories are with us. The late Chief Minister redefined welfare for the first time in the country and proved that (fulfilling) peoples’ aspirations are the main feature of governance.

This Government is going forward in his footstep s in the true spirit.’ Rajasekhara Reddy was killed in a helicopter crash on September 2, 2009 in the Nallamala forest in the state. Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswabhusan Harichand paid tributes to Rajasekhara Reddy on his death anniversary. The Governor said that understanding people’s problems at the grass-root level and implementing of welfare programs at the saturation- level was the hallmark of Dr. YSR’s unparal- leled leadership and administration which won the hearts of the masses by implementing pro-poor welfare programs during his tenure. His contribution to the irrigation sector and other welfare measures in the State would always be remembered by the people, Harichandan said.
