Arrack smuggler jailed under PD act, SP warns of stringent action including banishment

Kakinada: A habitual arrack smuggler Rayudu Nookaraju (32) of Jamunapalli village Pithapuram Mandal was arrested under the preventive detention act (PD act) and sent to Rajahmundry central jail on Friday as a remand prisoner.

Based on the recommendations of the SP Ravindranatha babu Kakinada district Collector Kriti ka Shukla has issued the Orders for the detention of the arrack smuggler promulgating the PD Act.

SP Ravindranath Babu has said that the police were left with no option for slapping the PD Act on him, as arresting in cases of arrack brewing and supply and sale and coming out on bail became the order of the day in his case. The SP warned that ID liquor brewing and smuggling in any form would not be tolerated and if necessary the accused would be banished from the district. regarding the ID liquor, Ganja, or any drugs smuggling for prompt action. He assured them of keeping their identity secret.
