Amaravati/Hyderabad, Sep 14: Heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam during the next 24 hours, the Meteorological center said on Tuesday.

In a bulletin here, it said thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely to occur at isolated places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam during the next 24 hours and on September 16. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers is likely to occur at a few places or at isolated places over Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Rayalaseema during the next five days. Very heavy rainfall occurred at one or two places over the Visakhapatnam district of Coastal Andhra Pradesh and heavy rainfall occurred at one or two places over Srikakulam district of Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the last 24 hours. Rainfall occurred at many places over Telangana, at a few places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam (Puducherry) and dry weather prevailed over Rayalaseema during the same period. Southwest Monsoon has been normal in Telangana and weak over Rayalaseema during the last 24 hours, the bulletin added.
