Kakinada, Sept 11: Kakinada district superintendent of police M. Ravindranath Babu has flagged off the rally to mark the celebration of International suicides prevention day at Rangaraya medical college premises here on Saturday. The rally aimed at creating awareness among the people against suicides and prevention was jointly organized by the district police, Indian psychiatric society, and Indian medical association. Doctors, medical students, police officials, and students of various colleges took part in the rally.
The rally converged into a public meeting at Bhanugudi junction were all took a pledge on striving for the prevention of suicides. Addressing the participants SP said suicide was not the solution to the problems but one has to face them bravely. He said several people were resorting to the extreme step of ending precious lives owing to momentary decisions over petty matters. The SP has released a poster to create awareness and prevention of suicides on the occasion.
