Squally winds likely in North Coastal AP: Met

Hyderabad/Amaravati, August 16: Squally winds of speed 30 to 40 km ph are likely to occur at isolated places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam during the next 48 hours, Meteorological Centre here said on Monday. Issuing a bulletin, it said that light to moderate rain or thundershowers is likely to occur at isolated places or at a few places, or at one or two places in Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, and Rayalaseema during the next five days. The Southwest monsoon has been normal over Telangana, weak over Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, and Rayalaseema during the last 24 hours.

Heavy rain occurred at isolated places in Kumaran Bheem district of Telangana. Rainfall occurred at many places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, at one or two places over Rayalaseema and dry weather prevailed over Yanam (Puducherry) during the same period, the bulletin added.
