Guntur, Sept.10: AP Minister for Health, Medical & Family Welfare & Medical Education Vidadala Rajini participated from APIIC Building 7th floor conference hall in the program ‘Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan’ launched virtually by President of India Droupadi Murmu, on Friday.
The ‘Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan’ of the Govt of India has set a target for the elimination of TB by 2025. Commissioner, Health & Family Welfare, Mission Director National Health Mission J. Nivas, and Director of Health Dr. Ramireddy also participated. Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave the clarion call to end TB, five years ahead of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) target of 2030 at the ‘End TB Summit’ held in Delhi in March 2018. President Droupadi Murmu also launched the ‘Nikshay Mitra’, an initiative that forms a vital component of the campaign and provides a platform for donors to provide various forms of support to those undergoing TB treatment. Under this initiative, a mechanism is developed to enable the elected representatives, NGOs, individuals, institutions (public & private), and partners to support the efforts to end TB.
The support to TB patients is done through the adoption of blocks/urban awards/districts/ or individual patients or groups of patients and donors will be called as “Nikshay Mitras”.In this connection, the Government of India enabled online digital consent in the Nikshay website to update consent of TB patients who agreed to disclose their identity, so accepting for com- munity adoption initiative. All the DTCOs and district-level staff has been trained virtually regarding updation of consent forms on September 7 and started taking consent.
