Anjani Kumar assumes charge as Telangana DGP (FAC)

Hyderabad, Dec 31 : Senior IPS Officer Anjani Kumar assumed charge as Telangana Director General of Police (Full Additional Charge) at State Police Headquarters here on Saturday. He succeeded M. Mahendar Reddy, who demitted office on attaining superannuation.
Several police officials who attended the programme congratulated Anjani Kumar. The State government has issued an order appointing Anjani Kumar as DGP (Coordination) with full additional charge of DGP (Head of Police Force) on December 29. Anjani Kumar, who belongs to the 1990 batch, had held many key positions. He got his first posting as Janagama ASP in Warangal District. After that he served as Superintendent of Police of Mahabubnagar, Prakasam and Guntur districts. In 1998, he represented India in the UN International Police Task Force (IPTF) at the war torn country Bosnia- Herzegovina and was twice awarded the UN Peace Medal for his distinguished contributions. Anjani Kumar had worked in various capacities as Counter Intelligence Chief, Greyhounds Chief, DIG of Nizamabad, Warangal IG, Hyderabad ACP, Commissioner of Police and ACB DG.
