BJP alleges non-cooperation from TRS govt for development of SCB area

Date:

Hyderabad, Dec 6 : Alleging of Non-Cooperation from the TRS government headed by K Chandrashekar Rao for the development of Secunderabad Cantonment Board area, SCB Vice-Chairman and BJP senior leader J Ramakrishna on Tuesday cautioned that the party would intensify the agitation if the state government further neglect the SCB citizens. Addressing a press conference here, Ramakrishna said the BJP demanded the state government to address the needs of the cantonment residents and it should be resolved immediately.
BJP is representing the issue of Secunderabad Cantonment Assembly Constituency on various platforms, he said the party is constantly mounting pressure on the state government to address the issues of the SCB. Cantonment merger with the GHMC is not a solution and we seek development of the SCB, the BJP senior leader said. Minister for Municipal Administration, K T Rama Rao is day-dreaming and creating confusion in the minds of the people, media and on social media platforms over the possibility of a merger which is just to divert the pressure mounted by the people of BJP cantonment assembly constituency who are fighting for their rights and bringing pressure on the state government. The SCB administration is far better than the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) administration and merger may not be preferred over the development, he clarified. The SCB had been repeatedly requesting the State government to implement the welfare programmes not just in GHMC limits but also in Cantonment areas too, Ramakrishna said, adding that the state government was ignoring the SCB pleas.Besides failing to take up infrastructural development works in the SCB area, the TRS government did not include cantonment area in the Master Sewerage plans, he said that the most of the connectivity of Master Sewerage passes through SCB.The Municipal Administration department also did not include cantonment area in any of the projects under Strategic Nala Development Project (SNDP) and SRDP (Strategic Road Development Project) proposals, the Senior BJP leader said. Misusing of statutory funds – TPT funds (surcharge on the stamp duty) being routed through the state government , he said instead of releasing the funds immediately, the state government is misusing funds and the same has been accumulated upto Rs 35 crore after March 2021. The state government is neither implementing any of the centrally sponsored schemes nor extending the same in the cantonment area, inspite of several reminders.
from the Union government, he alleged.
