Death of 2 women : Telangana Guv asks authorities to take corrective measures soon

Hyderabad, Jan 14: Reacting to the death of two women at Gandhi Hospital on Thursday after they underwent C-Section at M N Area Hospital in Malakpet here on Wednesday, Telangana Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan on Saturday said Death audit must be conducted and appropriate preventive and corrective measures must be taken soon by the concerned authorities. Taking to Twitter, the Governor said ‘Concerned & pained to note mortality after C-section at govt hospital in Hyderabad.’
Alleging that negligence by the doctors led to the deaths, the relatives of the deceased sat on a dharna in front of the government area hospital holding the one-day infant in their arms yesterday. They lodged a complaint with the police, demanding action against the doctors who allegedly responsible for their deaths.
The government constituted a probe committee and announed Rs 5 lakh compensation each to the kin of deceased women. The two women developed post-surgery complications and died during treatment at state-run Gandhi Hospital.
