Bengaluru, Jan 9: KPCC Chief D K Shivakumar warmly welcomed prominent JD(S) leader D M Vishwanath, who had contested against him in Kanakapura assembly constituency and narrowly lost, as well as another JD(S) leader Radhakrishna, who had close ties with former Chief Minister and BJP leader S M Krishna in Mandya district, into the Congress party. Welcoming the two JD(S) leaders along with their supporters into Congress, Shivakumar said their joining the party would give a boost in the coming elections. Shivakumar said the Congress party will treat the new entrants with respect without any distinction of old timers and newcomers.Earlier in the morning, the KPCC Chief held a meeting of the Congress tour committee with Congress opposition leaders in the assembly Siddaramaiah and council B K Hariprasad, KPCC working presidents B Ramalinga Reddy, Saleem Ahmed, Media cell chief Priyank Kharge and D K Suresh, Bengaluru Rural MP.
